Hi. I'm Briband. In other words, my band is me, so if the music isn't too good, there's no-one else to blame. Hope you like it though
Why this name?
I was going to be called Bri, but another Bri got there before me
Do you play live?
No. Used to, but basically I've retired now and just mess about for my own pleasure. Best moment; apart from marrying my lovely lady wife, years ago, working and recording with a (then) major recording artist called Barry Ryan and appearing on Top of the Pops on several occasions.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it makes unknown people's music available for everyone to hear
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely, without a doubt, indubitably, totally, completely. Is the Pope a Catholic?
In a word, YES.
In a word, YES.
Your influences?
This might sound daft, but I'm really into classical music - favourite composer, Chopin - although I do like general pop and blues. Also bigly into harmony.
Favorite spot?
My home town, Blackpool, followed a very close second by the country of Norway...bit cold in winter, though.
Equipment used:
Used to have loads of equipment, but sold it all when I stopped playing. When I discovered I missed it, I got a Yamaha PSR-K1. Also own a Tokai Strat copy. Just dicovered KAE.
Anything else...?
Talking about KAE, 20 or so years ago I bought a 4 track portastudio, or, if you like, a 2 track stereo. It cost 400 quid and was just a tape recorder. Now I have a free 16 track studio thanks to the generosity of someone unknown who invented KAE, along with all the effects I could want. Plug there for Kristal Audio Engine. Excellent!!!
