The Alex Mark Scott band started in y2k in Milano, Italy. I was tired of just write songs and make 'em to be sang by others so I took lessons and thanks God I did it. My songwriting is similar to Dokken, Winger, Whitesnake & Hardline mainly. I've been hugely influenced by the great George Lynch when I was "just" a guitarist back in the late 80's and I appreciate working with guitarist that have his style. Check out my tunes...BYE! Alex :-D
Why this name?
It is a childhood story :-) I was listening to Y.J. Malmsteen heavily (as most of the guitarist at that time) and I was impressed about J.S.Soto & Mark Boals voices. So I was 10yo...you won't beat me for that...I took my First Name "Alex", stolen "Mark" to Boals and "Scott" to Soto...that's it...I've never changed by then.... :-D
Do you play live?
I play live my songs but I have the Italia Whitesnake Tribute Band called "SAINTS 'n' SINNERS" I sing in. I like it very much obviously and it helps me night by night improving my capacities as singer and front-man. I remember a special moment but it is not infact connected with my career....it was attending on a Kip Winger acoustic show in 2001....what a performer...!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think Internet and Mp3 changed a lot....in good. Now artists like me or others can promote their compositions without running from tower to tower asking for a deal...plus...the more the artist grows the more the technology came near to him...see now what we can produce right in our bedroom with a pc and a fist of dollars...once you have had to spend a million!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not struggling to have a major deal. Mainly because my music is not a major product.. Honestly Major tastes change every 5 or 6 years, and I'm not willing to follow their stuffs...That's why I love the internet and the possibilities that it offers...you produce what you want...you make it listen to the ones who appreciate it and you remain true to your writing direction. That is the 1st thing we alla have to do.
Your influences?
Kip Winger, Dokken, Whitesnake, George Lynch, Hardline, Journey, Nickelback, Zakk Wylde, Shadow King, Damn Yankees.
