Phat beats and ill rhymes is what The Camouflage Marauder is all about...... Hip Hop is what I'm all about, although I also have breakbeats, a few hard techno tracks, and a couple ambient compilations. I currently have 28 tracks posted here, with free downloads for some of them. I do all the work myself, from writing and arranging the music, to writing and recording my own lyrics.
Why this name?
Being into Hip Hop as much as I am, one thing I take great pride in, is my fashion sense. Camouflage *used* to be a big thing in Hip Hop fashion, back in like.... 93,94-96,97 (when Hip Hop was at its prime....(to me, anyways)). I love camouflage, but only the militaristic camo, like forest, winter and desert camo. None of that cheesy red and yellow and purple crap for me. lol :D
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Although I may be somewhat picky about the name, Razor Sharp/Wu Tang Records or Aftermath are two labels that I would sign with, no question!
Band History:
Your influences?
I've definitely been extremely influenced by Wu-Tang, to start out with..... Ever since I was in 7th or 8th grade, when I first saw the "Protect Ya Neck" and "Mystery of Chessboxin'" videos, Wu-Tang has been my number 1 favorite group... The Rza is kind of like my idol, almost NEVER failing to come out with the illest beats. The Cella Dwellas opened up a new style for me, considering how I love Dungeons&Dragons and all that Fantasy stuff, so I'm indebted to them, for that. The whole Boot Camp Clique, Redman, Mos-Def, The Bush Babees, Boogiemonsters, and Organized Konfusion (Pharoah Monche), are some other faves of mine, just to name a few. The Neptunes have also really inspired me to try to make something out of what I was just doing for fun; making beats to drop a couple rhymes on, and to skratch to. The Invisibl Skratch Piklz (DJ Qbert, MixMasterMike, DJ Flare, etc.) and A-Trak have been a big influence on my skratchin styles, although I dont have any way to record my skratches.
Anything else...?
