G-DEC Ramblings

I just bought my first electric guitar (a strat MIM) and the fender G-DEC amp in January '06. I have played acoustic for 30 years and decided it was time for a change. Actually, I don't have 30 years of experience -- I have 1 year of experience 30 times over! The G-DEC is nice because it has 50 pre-sets in it with bass and drum tracks so I can play along. My 15-yr old nephew now plays guitar in a metal band so that inspired me to go electric (along with the Rolling Stones concert I saw!).
Why this name?
Since I am using the G-DEC, I thought it would make sense to use G-DEC in the name. And I am mostly just trying to make songs out of the G-DEC so it is like rambling through their presets.
Do you play live?
No -- at least not yet
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For the better -- it makes different types of music available to all and weakens the "money ahead of all else" music industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I guess if I was actually writing songs and performing, then signing with a major label would still be a goal.
