WeirdBEAT is an underground collective which aims to offer an alternative to the mainstream music, club scene. Bringing together musicians, Dj's, writers and artist's of many styles into a non-profit organisation, to create music and offer free parties based in Dumbarton and the west of Scotland.
We've been going strong since 2000 but have a musical history that goes back as far as 1986 and the formation of Punk band Lost cause.
Members of the collective include The Switchdoctor, Iapetus, Own admission, Pete Stone, Shroom, Weirdfruit and Pleasure Pain.

Why this name?
The name comes from The Weirdfruit and Dead Beat studios. We often work together and help each other out.
Do you play live?
We use MONKEY BUSINESS!! the party wing of the weirdBEAT as a vehical for our music as we can Dj, or play live when we like, our music. We have two nights at the moment MONKEY BUSINESS!! on the last Friday of each month and our newest night is DOWNWARD SPIRAL both nights are at The Burgh, Dumbarton where we'll be showcasing local bands along with Dj's.

Life is the greatest of influences on all we do.
Musically some of our influences include Hawkwind, Aphex Twin, Gong, Crass, Beck, PWEI, Subhumans, Orbital, Chemical Brothers and Nine Inch Nails are a big infuence. I've named but a few fav bands or we'd be here all night!
