I started writing music in 1993. I took a song I liked and used windows sound recorder to sample, edit and add new samples to. It was a joke and I found it exciting at the time with my new knowledge of manipulating sound. Well things have changed and I now produce my own sound write my own beats and pretty much write all on my own, new original material that people have never heard before. From time to time you will hear me sampling, but most of it is original!
Why this name?
I liked the idea of manipulating sound, so I came across the name "noiz violation" pretty quick and have stuck with it.
Do you play live?
I don't play live quite yet. I feel my 30 or 40 tracks I have been working on don't quite cut it yet, but as soon as I feel I have enough tracks to go live you will hear about it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well for me I believe it helps the "unsigned" bands get noticed easier, but as far as major labels there is alot of piracy and I could imagine it would be hard to sell albums in retail when you can get alot of it free online.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
When the time is right, yeah.
Your influences?
Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Pepe Deluxe, Mr. Dibbs, Daft Punk, Benny Benassi, The Christal Method, Curt Cobain, Ken Andrews, Chris Cornell
Favorite spot?
San Diego is deffinatley my favorite place to visit. It seems like everyone there is in a good mood and the people are just more friendly.
