Welcome

We or more precisely I am NQL

Why this name?
Actually I would have preferred to use Memlock as my band name, but that was already taken. NQL started out as a personal joke when I would pretend to be a DJ of a radio station called NQL. Later that name evolved into a name for a bogus production company and now it is my band name.
Do you play live?
All of my music is computer generated so I do not play live, although there could be the possibility of live production in the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
On the downside, it makes it harder for the music industry to control piracy. On the upside it gives more artists more opportunity to be heard by more people in more places around the world than ever before.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
???
Your influences?
My influences range from Bach to Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream and The Who and Kitaro and Led Zeppelin and Emerson, Lake & Palmer and on ad infinitum. The only music that does not have some sort of influence on me is music that I have never heard.
Equipment used:
I am currently using Noatikl as a stand alone generative music creator and as a plug-in for Ableton Live 6. Noatikl is available at http://www.intermorphic.com. Intermorphic was created by the original makers of SSEYO the home of KOAN generative music software. SSEYo and KOAN sadly are no more. I also experiment with some other software such as LMMS or Linux MultiMedia Studio.
