Aathra is a Pakistani band, based in the city of Rawalpindi. We are quite new and play all kinds of metal and rock music, focusing on lyrics, ranging from love, hardship and social issues and at times dark and gothic too.

Why this name?
There could be no significant connection honestly. But its an interesting name with a lot of meanings, it means physical strength, mental and spiritual enlightenment in Parsi and a mental state or syndrome of oblivion in medical terminology and sounds pretty different.
Do you play live?
Yes we do, and we have done a few shows. Whereever the crowd responds well.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
yea its easy access, a lot of bands are noticed quickly and if you dont play dirty with artists it all good for them.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Band History:
We've only been around for a year or so and therefore, we dont have much of a histroy, infact we are looking for a future of this band.
Your influences?
Well me (waqas, vocalist) my inspirations are Skid row's Sebastian Bach and Guns n Roses Axl Rose and other hair metal and 80's metal singers. For Humza (Lead) its Jimmy Page, Jeff Waters and Slash
Favorite spot?
We've only played in our country.
Equipment used:
We used BC Rich in our song's recording, our drummer has a pretty nice drum kit, hahahahaa dont know its name, and now we are looking for more equipment coz now we need more equipment for better sound etc. We usually use these things on jams that do not happen very often coz me and HUmza always sit together and make compositions, so it could acoustic guitar and my voice. Humza has a BC RICH and Ubaid has a fender Bass, Ashok plays Fender as well. V-amp processors and Peavey or Marshall amps
