One of the few completely individual and original up and coming hiphop producers/artists, Katalyst provides striking emotionally charged rhythms and orchestrations to vibe, roll or flow to, while occasionally dropping a few rhymes himself.
Why this name?
I always seem to cause quite "interesting" things to happen. I'm something of a "catalyst" only spelled with a "k."
Do you play live?
Performing live on occasion, Katalyst merges with the music, always putting every ounce of blood and tears into his work.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Heavily, but still not breaking through the commercial barrier, as the majors still pose an iron fist against the underground artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, but a part of my heart will always be held in the underground.
Your influences?
The beach,watching the waves crash against the breakwalls on the shores of Lake Erie.
Equipment used:
Ensoniq ASRX, Digitech FX processors, Behringer FX processors, Casio and Yamaha boards and controllers with many digitial sound modules, sequencers and multitrackers, all solidifed with a Shure KSM27 mic.

All the beats listed on this page are for sale, and are all original work. Most run form $200 a pop, though the price can vary on particular works. I also do custom work on request in a timely manner.
