The band is me, myself and I. I plunk enough to get by on a guitar and will attempt my new keyboard soon. Basically, I am a songwriter. It's what I love.
Why this name?
Born as Linda Veneal Andrews in Napa, California. Stewart is my married name.
Do you play live?
I only play live when I am at an open mike for the purpose of showcasing songs I write, and for my family, of course. Never aspired to be a performer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it gets them out there and available for listening to a wide audience. Also, of course, enables music contacts and more opportunity for getting songs promoted.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Who wouldn't ? Even Tiny Tim got a contract and success, so why not me?
Your influences?
Love Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Bob Seger, The Beatles (especially George Harrison), Don Henley and Glenn Frey. Also Billie Holiday fan and Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder....well, the list goes on and on. Dolly Parton is great too.
Favorite spot?
AUSTRALIA...any city there. My next life, I am going to live there. I love LONDON too. Such an exciting, interesting city. But, I LOVE AMERICA.
Anything else...?
Open to collaborating. My strong side is lyrics but I also write my own melodies. Would love to write lyrics to your composition. I became a member of NCSA in the early 80's in the Bay Area/California when it was newly formed. Used to showcase my music there and I was often a winner of "song of the month". Then, I had to abandon the muse later on, due to a busy career. Now, I am devoting full time to my music.
