We're a Hmong Canadian band that has only been playing together for a few months. We play music because because we enjoy it.
Why this name?
The words "tsib kaug" when refering to drinking, means one-shot straight back. We all liked this and decided to go with it.
Do you play live?
Played our first gig at a wedding in June. Got some good reviews. I guess we're going to continue to play for a little bit.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great, it allows artists to share their work and get feedback from other people around the world very easily.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
we'll see.
Your influences?
Our biggest influence has got to be my oldest brother and his band. They played in the mid 80's and we grew up listening to them, and we still admire their work. They were one of the first Rock Hmong bands in Canada and their style was just so original.
Favorite spot?
I like the Lake and outdoor scene... the other guys like the poker table.. haha.
Equipment used:
5-piece drums, 3 guitars, 1 bass... the simple rock & roll setup.
Anything else...?
We'd love to receive any feedback. We're a new band and we want to know what people think, so take a second and drop a note by clicking on the "message board" link on the right.
