I'm an independent songwriter, currently pitching my songs in Nashville and working towards getting a cut with a major label artist. Because this is my goal, I write mostly country songs, but I enjoy guitar-centric music of all genres...anything from John Denver to Iron Maiden.
Check out my tunes and you'll hear a bunch of country, with some rockabilly, heavy metal, or jazz thrown in for good measure.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm more interested in selling my country songs to major label artists. In that regard, yes, I would sign a song contract with a major label.
Equipment used:
I own a home studio. I record and perform all my demos myself. For country songs that I intend to pitch, I will usually hire out the lead vocals to singers in Nashville. On songs that I don't intend to pitch, I perform the vocals myself.
Anything else...?
The next time your talking with Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, or any other cool country singer, make sure and tell them they need to cut one of my songs.
