Music to piss off the one's you love...
Why this name?
To be in a "junkie funk", you are at the lowest point of your life. You have hit a bottom on all levels of human existence...but you live to tell about it...Well, at least it made sense to me, and considering all the names of bands that are played on the radio, at least this one is original.
Do you play live?
At the moment, no...The band recently broke up. Not because of bad blood, but for creative differences and "life stuff". I still continue to write the music, though...Just like it was in the beginning.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it opens doors that wouldn't have been opened before. I have heard more talent coming out of free music sites than I have ever heard on commercial radio...
Band History:
"Junkyphunk’s music is that state between the awake and the asleep. It's the arena where the truth of the individual is staged and there is nowhere left to hide. The actor is portraying himself in this psycho-drama, and the world is his audience. He projects to those who care to listen and understand, and disregards the rest because it wouldn’t be an honest performance any other way. The music, like the individual, is multifaceted, and embraces the inner truth that we would like to remain silent. The human condition is the hook, and like the human condition, the music can be beautiful as well as horrific. The actor is now an artist, painting a picture of these moments in a human history. The air is the canvass, the music is the paint, and the words are the details which bring the paintings to life. They are portraits of us all. Though the content of the songs may at times seem dismal, there is an underlying current of hope running through them. A hope that through introspection there will come a sense of meaning and understanding."
Junkyphunk has won many awards on garageband.com for its lyrical content and its musical arrangements, has made the Top 20 list many times on Audiostreet.net, has had four #1 underground hits, and is one of the most requested bands on MADD internet radio, including being voted one of the Top Ten bands for 2003. Music critics have called the music "catchy" to "flat out epic".

Your influences?
Too many to name here...If you only have one type of musical influence, then you just aren't receiving the full experience of music.
Favorite spot?
Austin, Texas, USA.
Equipment used:
For drums, bass and keyboards, an Ensoniq SQ2...Old, but very effective and solid. It has a cool sort of retro sound to it. For guitar, a Schecter 7-string is used exclusively, which gives it that low, crunchy end that makes me very happily insane.
Anything else...?
Yeah...I am a pervert...Got a problem with that?
