NEWS:

RAQUELA hails from Elk Grove, CA and now makes her home in New York City. Thanks to scholarship awards, she left for Los Angeles to study voice (Opera) and Drama. She was the 1st Mexican American to be crowned, "Miss Orange County" in southern California. After winning several other vocal competitions and Best Actress nominations throughout the country, she eventually found herself on Broadway. Some of her credits include the Acid Queen in "The Who's, TOMMY", Julie in the revival musical, "Show Boat" as well as originating roles in Off-Broadways, "Bat Boy-The Musical". (Ruthie Taylor, Ned and Young Meredith). Raquela also had the incredible honor of working 'one-on-one' with Tony award winners like George C. Wolf, Steven Schwartz, Des McAnuff, Wayne Cilento, Susan Stroman, and Harold Prince.

RAQUELA is even prouder to have worked alongside stage celebrities like Sara Ramirez (Grey's Anatomy), Carol Burnet, Cloris Leachman, Bernadette Peters, Mandy Patinkin, Paige Davis (Trading Spaces), Billy Porter, Kaitlin Hopkins, Toni Collette, Mark Jacoby, Alice Ripley, Don Rickels, Elaine Stritch, Gretha Boston, Chita Rivera, Michael McElroy, Norm Lewis, Angela Bassett, Cheryl Freeman, Joan Rivers, Rebecca Luker, Lonette McKee, John McMartin, and Tom Bosely.

RAQUELA's unique vocal style and song writing skills has gotten her seen opening for legendary Dance artists like Judy Torres, George Lamond and Grammy winner, Little Louie Vega. It has also given her the opportunity to work with world renowned Producer Chris "The Greek" Panaghi, who is known for producing and remixing the likes of Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion and many more. Following the release of "FALLING" and "THIS FIRE OF YOURS", she and Chris reached the # 1 spot on the Dance Masters World Chart.

RAQUELA's 'chart hits' didn't stop there. For two consecutive week's straight and after thousands of entries, Raquela and D'Sential's award winning track, "YOU'RE GONE" hit "Number 1" on the Dance chart at imgifted.co.uk. But on Broadjam.com she hit the "Top 10 Dance" chart for 6 weeks straight with Les Gutaless', "THE FIRE"! Recent of all, Raquela teams up with Chicago's legendary, "Godfather of House" music, MICKEY Mixin' OLIVER! This original HOT MIX 5 artist was recently listed in The London Observer as one of the 10 most Influential DJ's of all time. If you were to go downtown, you would find streets named after him near Michigan and Balbo. Mickey's release of, "NOTHIN' MORE TO GIVE -feat. Raquela" received Billboard Magazine's "Break-Out" for Hot New Club Play.

Now, a proud voting member of the Grammy's, RAQUELA is co-hosting a new Las Vegas show called, "Intensi-T". It showcases a cast of beautiful performers with Mickey Oliver heading it all off. It premiered on March 24th, 2008 at the Empire Ballroom. Because the show received so many raving reviews, "Intensi-T" begun focusing on television!

Hi everybody!

Rumors have been circulating the net in regards to a Las Vegas Dance review by Mickey Oliver.
Let me confirm and get everyone clear on the facts... YES! For the past year or so I’ve been feverishly working on a newly staged Dance concept with House legend and original Hot Mix 5 member, Mickey Oliver. (Who just recently had a street sign named after him in downtown Chicago!) It’s theme? The history of American Dance music. We finally got a myspace page completed. It’s up and running live and boy am I grateful.

Here is where you can get the full skinny on Mickey Oliver’s, "In-ten-si-T Reloaded"…

Go check it out!
There you will find music, pictures, show dates and video from our latest show.

Our first premier took place on March 24th at the Empire Ballroom. IT WAS FANTASTIC and is a complete on-going success! Although we are in the middle of "talk’s" with a few interested casinos, we continue forward as we workshop the next presentation. The above myspace page will help keep you all updated.

* I want to personally thank everyone on the staff who was and continue to be involved in this project and for helping it become a reality! I mostly want to thank Mickey for his vision and un-dying faith in the creation of this project, in me, and most importantly, in dance music all together!

OK everyone, let’s get ready for the next show!
Dance y’all! I said, DANCE!!!

-Love,
Raquela
