Why this name?
I was too nervous that years later if anything special happened to me I would regret some dumb name I thought up. I hear about too many artists who chose some name they thought was sort of cool and now even with a minimal fan base locally they regret not thinking of something more witty. I'm just sticking with my real name, not the coolest but no way I'd ever go... well damn, why did I name myself that? It's just my name.
Do you play live?
I'm in a group with a vocalist called Symmetry who is currently living in Providence, Rhode Island. When he moves to Seattle towards the spring live shows will start to arise.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is the most powerful marketing tool in the music world. With websites like myspace, that let musicians promote there music for free... many talented people are getting there stuff heard because they no longer have to sell thousands of albums out of a back pack to find local hype.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends. I think I would... but Symmetry wouldnt, haha.
Your influences?
That's hard... I hesitate to not name off everyone that's ever inspired me. In no particular order just off the mental, through hip hop The Roots, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, RJd2, DJ Shadow, Blue Scholars... Rock... Underoath, Death Cab, Sufjan Stevens, The Notwist. I dont know. Amazing amounts of inspirations.
Favorite spot?
The Ave in Seattle.
