THE G.R.U.N.T.S.:
................are a heavy-pop/punk/dirge combo spawned from the bowels outskirts of a red neck logger town known as Cork City in the south of Ireland.
Although only together for seven months Max Vanilla Guitar/Voc, Machine Bass/voc , Dave-Id drums have acquired
a single on Hard Core label Shut Eye Records based in Atlanta Ga. USA. SHUT EYE RECORDS & AGENCY , one cut on
Cork Live Music Society Combination and a CD called " Reflections in my Mirrorshades" coming out in Feb 2003.
Selling their bottled sweat and locks of their hair have proven to be their money makers so far, but in the future: dolls, pee chees, lunch boxes and bed sheets (with THE G.RU.N.T.S. logo on it) are in the works.
From the wonderful offices of Shut Eye Records world headquarters our talent agents Ricky Ray Rector and Tim Gein
have treated the boys good. THE G.R.U.N.T.S. are currently working with them in the recording of "REFLECTIONS IN MY MIRROR SHADES". Samples of the work done so far are available for download from this site.

THE G.R.U.N.T.S. sound like: The Pixies doing Black Flag impersonation of Iggy pop covering Echo and the Bunny Men.
Why this name?
Vernon Howell said it to me in a dream.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Every thing is much easier to do......

Band History:
Shut Eye Records Review:
"I am monumentally reminded of the Pixies and the Cult from your CD. This CD rocks hard and well. Its sounds like
the best bar brawl you could ever be possibly in. The guitar is junky, but well endowed and positively on the money
for rock and roll. CRAWL RIGHT BACK is one extremely catchy number. Almost Frank Black solo or Pixies with that repetive riff of guitars that drives along all the right veins. "Sweet Monica ..did ya spit or did ya swallow". Absolutely true. And quite hysterical. A complete amalgamation of every dysfunctional, Neolithic, shameless, media needy pin head that is paraded across the Oval Office. Of course put to a perfect indie- rock summation. In both Lyrics and instrumentation."
Your influences?
echo and the bunnymen, u2 , smashing pumkins,
the smiths, siouxie and the banshees, the Vanillas
Favorite spot?
a sunset from the top of mount Teide
