Singer, songwriter, wife and mom
Why this name?
Actually my mom and dad did the first two parts of my name, and then my husband contributed the last. :)
Do you play live?
I sing around town and other churches, when God opens those doors.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet can be used for many good and many bad things in this world. But I am excited to have an outlet to share my music with people all over the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
The most important thing to me is INTEGRITY, integrity in my music and my witness. If that can happen with a record contract and a major label -then I would say "let's talk".
Band History:
Andrea is an accomplished singer and songwriter. She has been singing since the age of 3 and writing songs for over 10 years. Her first experience with songwriting was in NYC for a large church choir. There she had the opportunity to write for two recording projects that were heard around the world. New York City is where she met her husband (a jazz musician) and together they write songs and musicals for their local congregation. Andrea is currently working on her first recording project. She is also the proud mother of two terrific kids. Andrea's passion is music and her heart is to support Christian music any way she can.
Your influences?
Keith Green
Bill and Gloria Gaither
Nichole Nordeman
Mark Hall (Casting Crowns)
Michael W. Smith
Dolly Parton
Kelly Clarkson
I love country music for the ability that they have to tell a complete story in 3 and 1/2 mins.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot and city are the same - New York City. I love to see the city at night all lite. South Street Seaport or a ferry ride on the Hudson is a great place to see all of Manhattan at night.
Equipment used:
Always my voice, sometimes pen and paper, though I like to write songs on the computer. I use a tape recorder to record a tune in my head.
Anything else...?
I just want to sing and write songs that penetrate the heart and challenge us to grow deeper with God.
