I live in Utah, U.S.A. I have been playing and composing for over 20 years now. I have a "real" job, but my passion has always been guitar and music. My style is a mix of Rock, Blues, Classical and some Jazz. All of my songs start with the guitar and work outward from there. I can play anything but Country. I haven't had a lot of experience composing or playing Country music. A quick listen either here or on my Acid Planet page will outline my style and sound. I am always willing to send a short demo for a new project...

Why this name?
The name "Riffster" is an old nickname from back in the day...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has become a tremendous tool for indie artists like myself. Free access to millions of listeners...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Signing is a tricky subject. There are always "consessions" to concider. I used to be hardcore indie, but now I would just like to get my music to more ears, so yes...
Band History:
I have a lot of experience composing for small media projects. Some comericals, video footage, jingles, etc... I have also worked as a session guitarist from time to time. I can turn a jingle out in a day if needed and can accomplish larger projects very quickly. My music is always recorded and produced with the highest standards possible. I can provide the finished project in any format. I create my music using Sony's Acid and Sound Forge. I use Vegas if the project has video. I have Pro Tools and Sonar also, but I like the Sony products the best. I can usually work around any format or original source issues. All of my finished work will comply with play-book standards. Again, I am very flexible about payment. Just shoot me an e-mail... ( I would really like to compose and produce a low budget movie score )
Your influences?
All of the Modern and Vintage guitar heros... but mostly Satriani, Vai and ( a gaggle of 80's guitarists ) lol... My sound has been shaped by cats like Steve Stevens, Van Halen, George Lynch, etc... I am somewhat of a gear freak...
Favorite spot?
Paris ( walking the streets of the latin quarter or along the river )
Equipment used:
I use and have used a lot of gear over the years, but my main stay seems to be my Line 6 XT Pro. I have a lot of old pedals and still use em. ( dunlop, tube screamer, etc... ) My guitars are custom, but I use Carvin electronics. ( everything from pots to pickups ) I still prefer tubes, but cost keeps me digital. I cheat a bit by using a tube preamp between my Pod and PC. I helps saturate the tone and warm it up, but I only need to do that on the clean tones usually.
