Davari Abstrakt - Take some R&B, rock, pop, hip-hop, soul, and then toss it all out and start fresh. Thats what you got. pure melodic madness, raw and uncut
Do you play live?
Indeed I do, we'll be playing at SXSW this year!!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The availability of music through mp3 format, is causing the industry to collapse and implode into itself. Yet at the same time, networking capabilities through sites like soundclick, and myspace, is opening up a whole new world of collaborations and new opportunities. The rise of digital music is making the function of the industry completely revolutionize. I'm excited to see what's in store...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Band History:
Davari Abstrakt/Vargha Davari, born and raised in So-Cal, has been influenced musically in a collage of contradictions. Raised on hiphop and classical music, Vargha then became very interested in rock and soul music. Some of his most immediate influences include; 2pac, Beethoven, Muse, Al Green, Michael Jackson, Radiohead, Outkast, Nirvana, Bob Marley. His staggering versatility, straight-forward yet rich music, and self-taught instrumentalism is refreshing. Ripe in his day, his live band has quite variety, yet suprising continutity. They have some big plans in the works soon as the new year comes around. Davari writes and produces all of his work, and critics are very proud of him. And by 'critics' i mean his mom. =)....good, you're still reading.....A regular at clubs/festivals/open mics in the Los Angeles area, he performs his unique style of melodically strong songwriting with a voice that ranges smoothly across bass to tenor, in front of fans and friends alike. His contagious style of catchy yet abstract (pun intended) songs, allow him to seam effortless, songs about love, family, war, peace, corruption, relationships, the ills of society and so forth, in an endearing fashion that is undeniable. "Motif" is the upcoming debut release from LA-based singer/songwriter Davari Abstrakt. Ranging from heartfelt electronica-hiphop ("Crazy"), to danceable Pop/Soul ("Tonite") to a rocked out lover's lament ("Design"), and personal 'i dont even know what you call it' type songs ("Solace (Hyatt Song)"). The songs are powerfully self written and produced. The raw cascade of musical styles is gratifying, and in itself is genre defying. Davari loves to harmonize, use his ethnic background to incorporate very melodic transitions, and experiment with inventive guitar licks. He will be playing more of his dynamic shows relatively soon with an incredible cast on his team...Find more info at http://www.myspace.com/davariabstrakt
