Do you play live?
Yes, I am a member of Hall&Oates so I tour with them regularly.
I also perform with my own band "3D" you can find dates posted
at www.eliotlewis.com
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It lets independent musicians reach so many
people-(with some work).
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would have to weigh all the pro's and con's per label, but I think I'm most happy being Independent.
Band History:
Eliot Lewis began life as a musician at the age of nine starting with the drums. By the time he was 20 he had mastered 5 instruments and had become a “serious” songwriter leading him to land songwriting deals with Sony, Warner-Chapell, and produce artist on BMG, RCA as well as perform on hits such as Tina Turners ‘‘Simply The Best”.
Spending the next 10 years as vocalist and keyboardist for the legendary “Average White Band”, Eliot toured the world over and shared stages with such artists as James Brown, Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Mary J. Blige, Babyface to name a few. Being a valued member of the Average White Band, Eliot contributed songs and lead vocals on AWB's critically acclaimed 1997 release, "Soul Tattoo" and 1999's live release, "Face To Face."
In 2001, he released his own debut CD, "Get Back What You Give," an upbeat collection of mid-tempo funk and soulful ballads, winning him a “John Lennon Songwriting Contest” award.
In 2003 Eliot released his 2nd CD, "Master Plan," which has been called an "expansive mixture of soul, pop and hip-hop." This CD represented a new phase in Eliot's songwriting, exploring more depth and adventurous styles of creating music.
Now in 2006 he is currently a member of the band Hall & Oates and has been touring all over the world with them for over two years and has recently released his third CD, "Standing On Top Of The World". Mixing acoustic and electronic elements into a "Chilled Out Pop" masterpiece.
As a independant artist, Eliot has sold thousands of Cd’s to date, which is only scratching the surface of what we could expect to see from this brillant independent artist.
