SoundClick artist: DJ Merge - UKG UK Garage Drum n bass jungle beats bass bassline essex renegade 2 step

I am an amateur producer and DJ currently working primarily in UK Garage (across the board). This is my main area of influence, it's what I mostly listen to, and what I mix when I play out or on the radio.

I'm currently studying for an HND in music production at the moment, and I'm picking up new things as I go, so hopefully that is reflected in my productions as time goes on.

Why this name?

It's my DJ name so at the moment it would be stupid to call myself anything else.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It makes life a lot easier (and cheaper) for people like myself who want a wide audience to listen to my music, but don't have the cash or the time to burn off endless amounts of Cds.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would consider it if there was a cast iron agreement on everything from money to creativity!

Your influences?

I try to incorporate influences from everything I hear, not just the style of music I am producing. Prominent musical influences at the moment are UK Garage, Drum n Bass, House, Funky House, RnB, Hip Hop (the list goes on...!)

Favorite spot?

My studio (where i can spend many hours mixing and no one can bother me!)
