An exciting blend of acoustic and electric guitars and tight jam band feel give The Verge a real unique sound. Coming out of beautiful Laguna Beach, California, the music shares the peace of the beaches and canyons that the songs were inspired from.
Why this name?
The name kind of came out of an extension of our place in life. Coming of age findiig a way to make it. Often the uncertainty of life finds you standing at the edge of the unknown. On the verge of greatness, or disaster?!?
Do you play live?
We play all over Southern California. The majority of our gigs are in and around Laguna Beach.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens the playing field for everyone to get their music heard and enjoyed.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
You never know.
Your influences?
We bring a wide variety of influences on stage with us. There has been the influence of the Grateful Dead, Ben Harper, Phish, Led Zeppelin, and all the Classic Rock greats, Rush, Reggae as a whole, Southern Rock and a touch of funk and motown.
Favorite spot?
Laguna Beach, CA
Equipment used:
We are heavy on songs light on equipment. Rhythm guitar is played via a number of acoustic guitars, mostly Godins. Electric is PRS through one of a number of Fender amps or a Marshall 1/2 stack depending on the venue. Bass is Fender Precision with Hartke head and cabs. Drums are a mix of Tama.
Anything else...?
We feel strongly that music is meant to move people. It is our belief that the messages should be universally good and positive. If you change the world do it in the best way you can.
