All the articles i've googled point to the same suggestion you have. So that i understand it from a pro like you, would a mix with good monitor - be similar across listening devices i.e. a simple speaker, stereo headphone, boombox etc ? I have read, heard, that with audio/electronics - the costlier the equipment is, the better the sound is. Since am not too sure, whether am invested in this field yet - am still running on a shoe-string budget, or actually none :) Actually, i tried not mixing with headphones - and the resulting mix, especially the chords/strings sounded too harsh/clipped. That was going to be my next question - if i want a string section 'in-my-face' - it definitely seems to compete in the same space as vocals, even after panning :( I hope you don't mind me trying to take help from your vast experience :) ?

Hey, thanks for taking the time to listen to my composition. Yes, 'Dawn' is my latest. With no formal training, am just learning by trial and error :) the biggest obstacle i face now is 'mix'ing - especially, the mix seems so different when on headphone vs when heard on speakers... and the one on headphone is how my ideal mix would sound. any help/pointer is greatly appreciated ! :)

Hello brete... Greetings! :) That was really nice of you ... Am glad u liked my version of the song Thee thee .... It is from one of my all time favourite movie & song too. So i wanted to give a try in my vocals. And am now listening to ur track.... Winter's First snow.. I haven't experienced snow fall in my life..:) But do have an idea about what a wonderful feeling it is... the song is cuter than the snow... :) The numberis quiet mesmerizing... keying is done brilliantly :) Loved it...... Near 3:18 it is amazing...It reminds me of my favourite movie track "http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/W4ygbt9JRd.As1NMvHdW/" Try listening to this song - especially the starting of the track .... Totally cool track from you.. :) It is as lovely as the title u have given :) Cheers Brete! :) Regards, Marutham. http:/

Wow! Winter's First Snow is a really cool composition. Many many transitions. I live that lil vox melody, seems to dance. The drum arrangement is really awesome too. Like the drums finally get a lil lead time/ heh It really does wind along through many interesting changes. I like it a lot

You are a true musician Brete man. Winters Snow is a work of art and could not be done by many people at all. You should be proud of this.
