Beyond the Scars is an Alternative/Rock band located in deep south Texas expressing both their love for music as well as their desire to grow with it. Guitar solos, drum solos, rock and metal riffs. That's what makes us who we are...Beyond The Scars.
Why this name?
The band name actually came more from desperation than desire at first. We soon found that our original name was copywritten so with little time before our next major show, we had to come up with something and the name Beyond The Scars just sort of stuck with us.
Do you play live?
Yeah! All the time. Mainly around the McAllen area. There's no better feeling than doing what you love and making people love it. We'll never forget our debut at the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas. That's what it's all about.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives all artists both signed and unsigned a chance to expand and spread their music around the world. It allows so many people to hear you out without even leaving the comfort of their computer. I think it'll forever change the way music is spread.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Ofcourse, we would love to spread our music to anyone who's willing to listen.
Your influences?
Mudvayne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix. We just have so many influences.
Favorite spot?
McAllen, Texas-The Smoke Shack It's just a laid back place to play and get one on one with the crowd.
