Hailing from Waterbury, CT, Emptyeye is in fact one 21-year old musician who plays or sings every part on his songs through one means or another. Primarily a bassist, he also sings, plays guitar and uses the magic of technology to place drums into his tracks.

Unlike most artists, Emptyeye chooses to commit career suicide by actively staying away from the common 4/4 time signature whenever possible, in true progressive-rock tradition. Yet unlike most proggers, he also eschews the typical three-minute solo sections of the typical prog-rock song, making his music a true enigma.
Why this name?
"Emptyeye" comes from a demo tape done by my cousin and some friends in 1997, where one of the lines was "Darn the empty eye". I took it from there.
Do you play live?
Being just one person writing complete songs, it's difficult to play them live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet changes the industry both for bette and worse. It's cool that a bunch of bands who may never have had a chance otherwise can ge their music out to a waiting audience. On the other hand, this works both ways--quite a few bands who SHOULDN'T have had a chance can also get their music out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, for various reasons. Probaly the major one is that no major label in their right mind would sign a record contract with ME, so the point becomes moot.
Your influences?
They change daily. Presently bands like Rush, Yes, Dream Theater, Symphony X.
