We were originally a one gig band without a name. The event organizer requested we come up with a name so i asked her what time we were scheduled to start. Her reply, "3 O'clock". We ended up playing at 1:45 that day.

We play live mostly in a 150 mile radius of Gastonia NC, (wow i didn't think Gastonia was the center of anybody's universe), mostly for youth groups, coffee houses and festivals.

I think the MP3 takes some of the control over the music industry away from nashville. It's easier for indies to write, produce, market and sell their own stuff without ever going to Nashville.

Probably, i can't lie.

It all started while the earth was still cooling, or so it seems. One band ending another beginning, members added, deleted, slid from one instrument to the next, breakups and recoveries, much like an epic novel the history of 3OP evolves, turns and eventually what emerges is a coffee house praise band, or maybe better stated a campfire jam band. Striving for a sound that will move a generation 3OP is not your normal P & W acoustic duo.
3OP consist of Scott Splawn on guitar and vocals, Wayne Bolin on vocals and guitar. Dusty Larsen joins in on Percussion.

We believe music should be fun, so expect get involved and be entertained when you see 3OP. We make the most of our minimalist setup by using alternative or open tunings, cross capo'd chord progressions and funky rhythm beats to expand the soundscape. We cover a broad range of tunes from christian and crossover artist. A few of our influences are the passion worship band, switchfoot and the soggy bottom boys.
