I currently work as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter guitarist.
Would I call my genre "New Acoustic Music"? It's hard to say - I've got a rich variety of styles of material - some blues, folk, and jazzy sounding songs, country, religious. However, much of my material does not seem to fit into any pre-exisitng genres whatsoever, and I'm proud of that!

Why this name?
The name "Horace" reminds me of long dead Latin poets. That resonates with me for some reason
Do you play live?
I've taken a new tack and am presently spending all my artistic time on the www.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is my stage right now. That says it all.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Without a doubt - I'm more interested with a song writing contract, however. There are performers out there who are covering my material. I want to stay home, snuggle in my blankie, and just cash the royalty checks.
Band History:
I got started a while back in San Francisco as 1/2 of a quirky, post-punk acoustic duo, fronted by the inimitable Ramona F - a snarling, enraged dominatrix with a heart of gold. I wisely played guitar and stayed in the background. We co-wrote our material and delighted SF audiences who embrace everything eclectic and eccentric. They never knew what we would try to pull off next. A bitter, nihilistic rant against promiscuity would be followed by sappy cocktail lounge fare. We weren't afraid to take risks and the payoff was well worth it.
However, we're both very restless people. I eventually moved to New York State and she got married to a 7 foot python and moved to Florida. By the way, she also starred in the hit cult movie "Vegas in Space", filmed sometime between me and the python. check it out

Your influences?
Beatles, Nirvana, Talking Heads, the Byrds, Sex Pistols, 10,000 Maniacs, Lene Lovich, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Eagles, Gilbert & Sullivan, Gregorian Chants
Favorite spot?
Undoubtedly San Francisco. I love to visit there as often as possible and always play out. People there respond to my music better than any other place.
Equipment used:
A Guild D70 6-string & Takamine 12-string guitars. A classic Fender Strat is kept on hand for electric emergencies. I use a Trace Elliot TA50R dual-channel acoustic singer-songwriter amp for easy portability.
Anything else...?
Hey! If you think one of my songs sucks, don't despair. Try another one - you'll probably think it was done by a totally different artist and that one may tickle your fancy.
