I got the name Mic Larry when Martin Lawrence and Will Smith came up with Mike Lowry in the movie Bad Boys. My homey Carleek decided he was gonna change my name to Mike Larry for the rest of the school semester and I've been going by that ever since.

I started the same way as most. A cheap Casio or Yamah-mah Keyboard, an MC, a basement and a dream. So, my brother and I made our first record with No Escape back in '96. Soon to follow I produced a record for Kah-Boogie. Now known as simply K-Boogie. AH Shit! After those two recordings I decided that the beats were to simple and I didn't have the musical talent and drive to continue producing tracks like that. Fortunately, I recieved my first computer and my dreams were restored.

With my first computer in hand I was able to do so much more! I often found myself biting beats off of Biggie, Gang-Starr and even Ghostface Killa. That was when I really decided to step my game up. I was asked to make instrumentals out of some of the most intricate breakbeats. My favorite was the track Fish from Ghostface Killa's album Ironman.
