It came about through an evolution of names. Firstly, when I was 14 or so, I came out with DJ Scratch'd. Didn't like that so moved to DJ Raze, only to find that about 768 other DJs had the same name. So name number three was Quik-Won, which got shortened down to 'Quik', but obviously DJ Quik kinda had that one covered, so my middle name was used in front, and the DJ was dropped : Robb Quik.

Whenever there's a set, I'll be playing it...

It allows the artists who were previously slept on to come out and get their music heard worldwide with no big record deal, no distro deal and, most importantly, lets them make music the way they wanna without industry heads putting pressure and contracts on 'em.

Obviously any rap cat who's come out and made a lasting impression on the scene - but for me you can't argue with the big five : Pac, Biggie, Em, Hova,and the Fugees.

London Town - the atmosphere there is incredible. The whole vibe of the city is amazing...and you never know who you'll run into...I met Blak Twang in a back street indy record store.
