Take one part Green Day, one part Ramones and throw in a pinch of the Beach Boys and you might be close to describing Attila and the Huns. The band consists of four brothers, and their highly varied styles combine to produce pop-punk, rock, surf and ska tunes that will keep you surprised with every track.
Why this name?
We were looking for something historical, and also we were looking to throw back to the 60s era when so many bands were "this and the that" kind of names. We threw around about a hundred, and "Attila and the Huns" stuck.
Do you play live?
Yes, everywhere. Its all about touring, meeting the people you are touching with your music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It somewhat levels the playing field. There are mighty barriers set in place to keep indie bands from getting their music to the people... the mp3 revolution changes all that. Now, its still the band's daunting task to let people know its out there, but at least that first step - instant availabiility - is taken care of.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not unless the deal was on our terms. In other words, probably not!
Your influences?
Green Day, Blink 182, Ramones, Reel Big Fish, Simple Plan, Dick Dale, Django Reinhart, Eddie Grant and too many others.
Favorite spot?
Daytona Beach!
