Hello,
Jimmy Blue saying thank you for stopping by the band page.
Here you'll find Blues/Rock with a hint of Jazz and Instrumentals from other genre. But all are for the mind and soul! I do hope you enjoy my music and please download all my free songs. Send me a note on what you think.
Why this name?
I play improvisational lead guitar.
I'm also a songwriter and audio production engineer. All the songs on my albums I have produced myself. I'm a one man band! I do all my own backings. So what better than "The Jimmy Blue Band".
Do you play live?
Yes I play live. I use my own backings through a P.A. system and split my guitar mix to my amp. In my opinion, there is nothing better than hearing a live audience when you're playing.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3's have been good to me Howard. Seriously though, the MP3 format has changed everything. Any musician can be heard from anywhere on the planet. But I will be happy to move into the next generation of Hi-def format.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Anyone offering ?!!!!!
Band History:
I've studied music for 12 years now. This has included guitar, recording, and music theory. Most of my projects have leaned toward backing tracks. I also have two personal CDs and I'm working on a commercial CD.
Your influences?
Just to mention a few. Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and John Lee Hooker.
Favorite spot?
Behind my guitar.
Equipment used:
Fender Stratocaster, Peavey Transformer 112, Peavey Delta Blues with 15" speaker. DigiTech effects. The Sonic Foundry family of recording software. For giging, Peavey PR 12 two-way cab's, Peavey PV 1500 stereo power amplifier, Mackie 1202 VLZ PRO Mixer and the best cables I can buy. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!
Anything else...?
I hope to be bringing some more jazz into my work.
