Growin up here in Shiprock as a kid I use to kick it with the older people & they nicknamed me " Phish " b-cuz it was another meaning for an amateur or a young buck; Then in '98, during my freshman year in high school, my brother an I started our own dj company ( Galaxy DJ's ) in recognition of the late owner (Geno Carrio who ran Galaxy Disco). We would sponsor & host local hip hop shows at the Shiprock Boys & Girls Club, and the 1st time I ever got onstage I just introduced myself as DJ Phish... an the name has jus stuck wit me ever since.

Yes, I play LIVE as a DJ Host & Emcee. I host my shows with music or talented acts, and emcee when I'm droppin my own stuff.

Workin wit MP3's for me has been a huge relief as far as listening and connecting to other people's music over the internet. But MP3 quality can only go so far, cuz their's more feeling & comfort in analog recordings over digital, but hey...these days music is constantly evolving.

I don't know, maybe. But I'm still in my own vision & goal of starting my own label.
