this is who i am.
Why this name?
My band name comes from an old assistant coach named Angel, one day he called me Jahir and it stuck to me, and ever since i have enjoyed this name, keeping it real.
Do you play live?
Yes i preform live, and varies wherever the calls come from. I enjoy it to the fullest its the best feeling in life, and my most special moment would be the talent show for Santa Fe High.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Definitely due to now the access is much easier and now you could spread the talent quicker.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on what they offer.
Band History:
Jahir. Keeping it real on the music level. Born in June 8, 1989 in the city of Orange I have spent the rest of my life in Norwalk. Born into a family where my mom and dad come from El Salvador music flows in my blood. Have done various music projects with artist like Rebecca, an RnB sensation, PD, UNKNOWN, Young Sqad, and companies like Desmadre Records, Squeaky Kirin Music Publishing (BMI), Offset Productions and about to begin to work with an upcoming indie label Hood Fellaz Records. I have gone through stages of carnivals, parties, school talent shows, and also clubs like A Mi Hacienda. The music industry is large and this is what has my attention, I have fell in love with spanish music since Bachata came into my life, and then around 2001 a movement titled REGGAETON came and hit me. It strongly got my attention and began to write music in Feb. of 2005. And after my first song was complete it was played in Candela Radio a popular Costa Rica station. Have had success in some stages due to everything up to this point has been hard work and dedication amongst most things. Thanks to all those who have helped with Jahir Music and this is where I stand in my music career. Expect my album this summer, it will be my first, and now with my DJ, DJ LITO going and doing big things, we ready. Dios los bendiga.
