My name is Alex Kriukov. I am an instrumental guitarist, playing many different kinds of music from rock to folk to classical to Spanish to Middle-Eastern to Eastern-European. Most of my music is acoustic as I love playing fingerstyle guitar parts that are influenced by classical, flamenco and folk guitarists. I also love to play rock and roll and blues on an electric guitar as well. I write music that is melodic and emotional.
I started playing guitar at 14, took 2 years of guitar lessons while I lived in Toronto and started writing music while I was in univesity. My writing bug really hit me when I was living and working in Delaware in 1997-1999. I recorded my first CD under the tutelage of the great instrumental guitarist, Chris Dunnett in 2001, recording 10 songs and I recorded five more songs in 2003.
I have occasionally played in coffee shops and clubs.
Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Andres Segovia, Steve Howe, Rush, Queen, Jesse Cook, Chris Dunnett, Boston, Ravel, Tchaikovsky, Pink Floyd, Al DiMeola, Heart, Joe Satriani, Rik Emmett, Russian film music.
A Silvertone acostic guitar, an Epiphone electric guitar and a Peavey electric guitar amp.
I always enjoy listening to various types of music and have always been a big fan of music since childhood. My outside hobbies are reading tennis, mathematics, jogging and working out.
