A Kay is a brand new solo hip hop artist who hopes to bring back the hip hop that deals with real life issues. Though he isn't afraid to battle it out with another rap artist either. He's known to be a really down and dirty freestylist and will spare no one who crosses his path. Raised in some of the worst ghetto's in Jersey he grew up around a disfunctional family. Then moved to the Bronx, NY to start a new life. Where he then became the A Kay. A new era is upon us!
Why this name?
It's simple, I basically took the first letters of my first and last name, and put them together to come up with a catchy nickname (A Kay).
Do you play live?
I play live in my home. Haha, ofcourse i like it. No special moments really.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, for one, it's made the music industry worse because we got a lot of amatures posting music on the internet. Which means (especially in rap) that there's a lot of cocky rappers out there. Doesn't phase me though, my lyrics are real true life shit, and if someone wants to battle me, see me in the streets homey.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
NO question, ofcourse I would. Right now I'm producing my own music(instrumentals credited to those who let me use them) and I'm going to see where I go from there. Def Jam, Columbia, Sony, or whoever dont be afraid to approach me, a deal is what I want.
Your influences?
I gotta hand it to Jay Z, Biggie, 2 Pac, Eminem,50cent and most recently Kayne West.
Favorite spot?
I love Orlando, FL. Just the atmosphere is awsome.
Anything else...?
Be sure to cop the new album due out this summer, we'll keep you posted. Holla at ya boy, ya heard.
