A SOULTRY R&B/SOUL SINGER...SIMPLY BREATHLESS
Why this name?
ITS MY FIRST NAME
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I THINK THE INTERNET OFFERS EASIER EXPOSURE TO UNSIGNED ARTISTS..AND OPPORTUNITIES THAT WOULDN'T TYPICALLY ARISE OUT IN THE REAL WORLD. THE INTERNET OFFERS EASY ACCESS TO ALL TYPES OF MUSIC AND ALLOWS PEOPLE TO BE MORE CREATIVE AND MAKES THE AUDIENCE TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
YES IF THE TERMS WERE TO MY STANDARDS
Band History:
Diondria Thomas was born in Houston, Tx and raised in Southern California. She is what you call a breath of fresh air to the music industry. This Sultry, R&B/Soul singer and songwriter has been singing since she was 5 years old. As a teenager she attended Huntington Beach Performing Arts School in Huntington Beach, CA, Where she studied Musical Theatre, Actors Repertoire, Show Choir, Chamber Choir and Chamber Orchestra for 4 Years. In addition to her extensive arts training she has starred in numerous stage musicals and plays such as “Cabaret”, “Sweet Charity”, “Pirates of Penzance”, and “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Diondria has been playing the violin since the age of 9 and has played for many of the musical scores.

With her soft and sultry vocal abilities she can be compared to the likes of Aaliyah and Ashanti, but Diondria is still considered very unique. With her creative and breathtaking songwriting ability she is able to charm the socks off of any listening audience. She takes songwriting to a new level of the industry today. With her exceptional writing and arrangement she combines personal experiences and common everyday situations; so anyone who has lived life, been hurt, or ever been in love is able to relate to her music. She truly puts the soul in R&B/Soul. Some of her musical influences are Lauryn Hill, Tamia, Mya, Brandy, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Minnie Ripperton, Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Brian Mcknight and Boys to Men to name a few. Some of her writing and arrangement influences are Brian Michael Cox, Babyface, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Tank and the one and only DIANE WARREN. Diondria strives to be the Diane Warren of the new generation.

If you are a tennis lover, you may have seen one of her many National Anthem performances at WTA tennis tournaments. With help of her best friends, Serena and Venus Williams she has been blessed with numerous opportunities to expose her voice and music to the world. To name a few, her performances include, “ The U.S. Open” NY, NY, “ Chase Manhattan Beach Open” Manhattan Beach, CA, “ The Home Depot Championships” Carson, CA, “ The Fed Cup” Boston, MA and Delray Beach, FL which was televised on ABC Family On The Venus and Serena Reality show. She has also performed live at a Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta NFL game and numerous venues in Los Angeles and Houston. These opportunities have enabled her to gain experience, advance her career and most importantly do what she loves most, sing.

Her goal in the music industry is to set a new standard for R&B artists today. Her goal is not just to be a “singer”, but an artist. She wants to spread her creativity and write for other artists and by studying the business of music she eventually wants to start her own Music Label and seek out other hidden talent that deserves a chance. “She wants her audience to “feel” her music and most importantly relate to her music. “ I want people to listen to my music and say, that same thing happened to me or this girl is real I can relate to what she’s talking about “With the support of GOD, her family and business team she is currently writing and recording, and plans to start a nationwide marketing and promotion buzz for herself. Because the people need to meet Diondria Thomas.
