THIS IS A GREAT SONG!!! This song is a musical depiction of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano that destroyed Pompei. As such, it has a very powerful and driving theme. It is about 9 minutes long.

this is another song of the 2006 TMEA 4A all-state band as their 5th song. this is a very challenging sounding presto-like song.

The first song of HS Band 1 in 07. It begins with a beautiful brass choir and trades to the woodwinds. This is mostly a calm piece until the end where there is a great full band statement of the melody.
This is a shorter movement of the William Byrd Suite. It is very cheerful and uplifting throughout.

This is the final movement of the Suite. It makes great of use of woodwind/brass canons throughout the movement to create the sound of bells as it builds to the powerful climax.
perhaps the only recognizable movement of the entire overture, you probably believe this to be the only piece in existence, am i right? please enjoy the chicago philharmonic orchestra perform this well known finale.
