Why this name?
CottonMouth -- Bayou Water Mocassin Snake - always seemed to me to be the perfect name for a Blues/ Rock Band. Named in 1969 !
Do you play live?
Toronto and area Bars, Jazz and Blues Festivals
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Best thing ever for indie songs. I hope all good musicians keep up the good work.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would welcome the opportunity. Cottonmouth
Band History:
Still goin' strong after 7 years in Toronto Bars. That's what Ronnie Hawkins did, right?????
Your influences?
The configuration on these live recordings has such a varied interest. Clapton, John Mayall, Paul Butterfield, Charlie Musselwhite, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, 'Old Rock Classics' re-done in a Blues fashion Etc.
Favorite spot?
Timothy's Pub in Toronto -- the best all-around place for music in Ontario, Canada
Equipment used:
This line-up used Peavey, Fender, Dean Markley, Marshall, Traynor Amps and Gretsch, Gibson, Fender, Godin and Custom made Canadian Bass Guitars. We had two bass players and two drummers at one time. Put that together with two lead guitarists -that equals either 'mayhem' or 'magic' --- Both Happened !
Anything else...?
Keep live music truly ALIVE. Go out and see a band when you can. Thank You. CottonMouth
