Why this name?
I am a teacher, so most of my students call me "Mr. Mac". The '06' is from my fraternity, the distinguished Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.
Do you play live?
I am currently in a group which is still in the early stages. I play keyboards and trumpet. It is an refreshing experience that I would not trade.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it changed it a little for the better due to the fact that you are able to give and receive information at a faster rate. The musician now has the ablity to "tele-produce" and still be able to maintain a decent living.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I have never been presented with that opportunity as of yet, but when I do, if everything is on the up, then most definitely I would.
Your influences?
Dizzy Gillespe, Charlie Parker, The Brothers Johnson, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, just to name a few.
Favorite spot?
LA!
