Hey, I'm Renard. I compose all sorts of nifty electronic music. I go under several names when I do stuff for my music game, Mungyodance (those names being Renard, Sonitus Vir, Emoticon, Kitsune^2, Hecate, Lollipop, and Neko, depending on the song's style), although outside of the game I just use Renard. I tend to like to mix orchestral elements in a lot of my music, but also like a nice heavy tune every now and then, just filled with blippy bloopy goodness. :)
Why this name?
I'm part of the furry community and fandom on the vast net of the inter, so I chose it based mostly on the species of animal (Red Fox / Raccoon hybrid). In reality, I'm small, kinda quick, and a fast thinker when trouble arises as well. Suits me well, I think.
Do you play live?
Nah, I don't to live gigs usually. Sometimes I'll kick up Rebirth and improv at a talent show at school or something, but that's about it. :)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it's made it better and worse. I love the fact that exchanging music is so easy. It works great for people trying to get into the industry. However, if I were out making a few bucks on my tunes, I wouldn't exactly want people pirating it left and right, now.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course! I'm very interested in doing so.
Your influences?
I love all sorts of music. A few of my biggest influences are Akira Yamaoka, Naoki Maeda, Danny Elfman, Onoken, Pendulum, Gammer, BT, The Mad Capsule Markets, Mark Farina, Dave Rodgers, Y&Co, Tatsh... the list goes on for ages.
Favorite spot?
I like it here in Ontario, Canada. Where I live is peaceful and quiet, very outdoorsy and inspirational. I live between a huge city (Niagar Falls) and a small one (Fort Erie), so I have the homelieness of a small town one way and a bustling metropolis of commercialization the other. :D
Equipment used:
I use MODPlug Tracker (newest OpenMPT version), mainly. FL Studio comes into play every now and then, along with ACID Pro for mastering.
