Born Alicia Anne Murray on January 7, 1985, she knew immediately that she had a calling. At the age of two she was singing praises around the house. By the age of five she was playing piano and singing in the church choir. By the time she attended Talented Unlimited High School she was no stranger to the stage. She had performed with several gospel greats and choirs throughout New York and in various plays, concerts, shows and events. She went on to increase her musical talents and began writing, composing, producing and engineering.
Emerging into the music industry as one of the leading ladies of contemporary gospel as well as music producer - is A.Vessel - spirited, gifted and ready to proclaim the love of God to the world through her new album “Can’t Understand” - A project that Alicia, along with other members in her production company, wrote, composed and recorded. And when Alicia performs her music on stage, she’s on fire and her performance will excite you, incite you and move you to the praise the mighty God. As one media commentator stated “A.Vessel’s message is word, sound, pow’a….”
Realizing that her calling was to be a vessel of God to proclaim his greatness, Alicia has written, composed and produced over fifty songs given to her in revelation. In addition to her new album "Can't Understand, an eclectic mix of urban, hip-hop, funk, jazz and easy listening gospel. She has also co-produced with various artists on R&B, Pop, Jazz, and Hip-Hop projects and is featured on some of their albums and singles.
One is not born with her talents, but they are bestowed upon you by a higher power. “God gives me the music, the words and the inspiration to sing about his goodness and greatness. Aside from writing and composing, Alicia stays busy with the Lord’s work. She’s the musical director and musician in her church’s choir and appears regularly as a guest and featured artist and musician for churches throughout the metropolitan area. Her charitable works include appearing as a guest artist for fundraising events and shows, working with the youth department of her church and assisting other aspiring artists with compositions, all while giving God the Glory.

Why this name?
My calling is to be a vessel for songs of praises to God - hence my name A.Vessel
Do you play live?
Yes, I'm always playing and singing for churches throughout the metropolitan New York Area and I of course play in my home church. I've had the opportunity to play and sing in some major venues in New York. Venues like Madison Square Garden and Lincoln Center. And I'm always appearing in plays produced by various performing artists like Reverend Vereen (former wife of Ben Vereen).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's allowed My music to be available worldwide - and people can not only listen but downdload their favorite tunes to add to their music collection.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure - my production company's focus is to make my music and message available to the masses, and they are open to offers.
Band History:
I've been doing this music thing since two years old and I've had the opportunity to play and sing with some of the greats like Whitney Houston and others. At 20 years old there is still history to be made.
Your influences?
There are so many - I love some of todays contemporary gospel artists - but I also love R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, Jazz and more.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is on stage playing with other musicians and singers who love their craft.
