SoundClick artist: Chris Wilkins - Wellington One-man electronic muscian

I am a one-man band based in Wellington New Zealand but born out of my home back in the UK. Since moving here six years ago I have been very influcenced by the change in my environment and have moved from solely writing trance or hard house to more organic music that is expressive and driven from events and feelings unique to this beautiful country.

My styles range from dub, drum & bass, house, trance and most recently hip hop.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I think the internet has broken the barriers down that once stopped creative artisits getting their music out to others. It's meant the garage band that once was is now able to reach out and be heard by a potentially huge audience. I'm sure that many like me have discovered the inner belief we all have aas musicians can be more readily focussed on getting a song or songs published thanks to less red tape and the ability for anyone to surf!

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yup - although I'd stop short at selling my soul for a deal...

Your influences?

I really like a mix of old 80's styles with a newer dub or drum and bass sense of fun.
