Seventh Chakra is Neil Numminen, bassist, and audio engineer. OK, maybe a little keys and lapsteel as well.
Why this name?
The Seventh Chakra, the crown chakra is our connection to spiritual wisdom, aspirations, and revelations of truth. The paradox of the seeming duality and the actual singularity of existence is resolved.

Besides that, it just seemed so much nicer than "Sarcophaga"
Do you play live?
The particular co-operation of musicicians that is Seventh Chakra only performs in the studio to date. We all have different situations that we perform live in.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We now have a new grass roots model of music creation and propagation. This technological explosion has given incredible tools of production to the artist in their quest for realization of their vision and the possibility of true "world" music. The music industry ? As much a crapshoot as ever.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Let's hear the offer...
Your influences?
Earliest influences that I can recall are the motown hits coming over the radio. Then my mother playing Russian music on LP. Then my brother and sister started influencing me with what they listened to, Yes, Santana, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Jimi Hendrix. And then the one song that changed my life, made me want to play music , was Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein". After that came Weather Report, Jeff Beck, Miles, C. Parker and Mingus. PFM are still a big favorite of mine.
