Tom Bradley is a songwriter originally from Huddersfield West Yorkshire but now based in Northumberland.
He writes in just about any genre - pop to orchestral, Childrens songs to bitonal thrash ska.
Why this name?
Given it pretty much at birth!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The cottage industry approach to music making has revolutionised and re-invigorated every genre of music and given rise to countless fusions; unfortunately whilst doing this I feel it has made music far more disposable. No more do we save up, buy an album and listen to it until we have scrutinsed every sound, we tend to simply download it, listen to an extract, judge it purely on first impressions and file or erase.
Does this simply make songwriters step up their game or cheapen music so that accessability takes priority over musicality?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would certainly like to get artists and bands playing my material so that I could retire.
Band History:
I have been an active musician for many years composing, arranging and playing in many areas of music and with musicians such as Polly Bolton, Vicki Clayton and Robert Plant and bands such as The Road North, Tungan Groove and Shifty Kook.
Your influences?
I am influenced literally by everything I see and hear - Musically you will hear Kula Shaker, Barenaked Ladies and Del Amitri and I have to mention The Beatles, The Kinks and Led Zeppelin and Jazz players such as Thelonious Monk, Gil Evans and Jaco Pastorious.
Favorite spot?
You can take the boy out of Homlfirth but....!
Equipment used:
Rode NT1a's, Fender Jazz Basses, acoustics and Boss desks!
Anything else...?
My greatest inspirations and critics will always be my 2 sons Josh(5) and Jacob(3).
