I've been working in the music industry for over 17 years, starting out as a teaboy in a studio and moving up through the ranks until I started producing and writing for myself and other bands. I've had several singles and an album released under the name Guardians of Dalliance and more recently I've been writing music and doing sound design for short films.
Why this name?
Erm... it's my name...
Do you play live?
I used to play live but I haven't for several years. This is mainly due to the fact that me standing behind a stack of small black boxes and keyboards isn't the most entertaining spectacle...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has opened up the industry to a much wider range of music. You can get hold of experimental stuff much easier than you used to. And it's nice not to have the big record companies dictating what you can hear or buy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hmmm... maybe, if they gave me millions of pounds (that I didn't have to return) and total freedom and a big house and plenty of free vodka.
Band History:
As I mentioned above, I was a member of Guardians of Dalliance and you can get some of that stuff on iTunes. Go on... you know you want to...
Your influences?
In no particular order... Vangelis, Pink Floyd, Telepopmusik, Gotan Project, Tomita, Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Bernard Hermann, Michael Stearns, Tangerine Dream and lots more.
Favorite spot?
My favourite spot is this little red one in the middle of my chest.
Equipment used:
I use a big beast of a PC (64 bit dual core fella) and Cubase, Reason, Sound Forge. I also use a JV-1080, MU90R, Yamaha guitars, O1X and various other bits and bobs.
Anything else...?
I'm really keen to work on more film, animation, video game projects. Get in touch if you like my stuff! All feedback is good feedback!
