To me, noisecore is the pursuit of God, only belonging to those who are dedicated to the static revolution. Through my music, I hope to someday become talented enough to simply hit a button and give an orgasm. We're building a tower to heaven with our sounds.
Why this name?
Digital Grampa 2000 is just a little nickname I picked up along the way.
Do you play live?
At this point, a live Digital Grampa 2000 show in the distant future, as I don't feel anything from the first album has a place in a live arena.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easier for a lazy f*** to feel like a f***ing rockstar. That can be good and bad.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
no.
Band History:
The project started as a wholly different monster by the name of Innocent XIII. However, the dude I started the band with turned out to be a real scumbag and ripped me off for quite a bit of cash. So the band re-started as The Innocent, but the name was cursed, and minimal input was given by the other members. At that point I decided that this project has really always been mine, so I opted to turn it into a solo project, and Digital Grampa 2000 was born.
Your influences?
I don't have any direct influences, but as the project has developed I have certainly turned to several Industrial acts for mentorship. The actual number is immense, but the primary artists I taught myself of off were: Akira Yamaoka, Klayton from Celldweller, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, and very recently the works of Genesis P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV.
Favorite spot?
Denver, all day every day.
Equipment used:
Freeware, a busted ten-year old PC, a ten dollar mic, and a mattel DJ toy.
Anything else...?
Not much else to say, yet. I do hope that you like it. By the way, I fully and completely believe in file-sharing and hope that you will download me and share me with friends and perfect strangers.
