All under the age of Eighteen Flint River is a well respected and loked band. They play manely Folk and Bluegrass with a little high music education to create the blend they call Newgrass. They play local coffee in the Sat Louis area and are always looking for chances to play.
Why this name?
Lokking at a piece of flint that Zach found on a Boy Scout campout.
Do you play live?
We Play live music at St. Charles Coffee House, It's a Grind Coffee House, Picasso's, and hopefully more.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
By making an accessability for people like no other form of sale
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes YEs YES!!!!
Band History:
Zach and Stewart met at an orchestra and were involed in many other Homeschool activaties together. When they joined Boy Scouts together they realized they had the same intrest in music and began to play together. Over Time they continue to grow in numbers and popularity.
Your influences?
Nickel Creek especially Chris Thile. These are the closest to what we sound like. They are exactly what Newgrass sounds like.
Favorite spot?
We haven't play in enough places to tell, but would love to get the variety
Equipment used:
A yahmaha 300 powered mixer, a Pyramid 400 watt speaker, a MXL 990 condensor, a Samson C03 condeser.
Anything else...?
Though young they will blow you away. Known to drop jaws a bluegrass festivals with their playing then finishing it off with telling them there age(16,15,15,and12)
