Back Room Beats was created Fall 2002. The production, DJing, and remixing started way back in 1993 with my Packard Bell PC and wave editor.

Producer: Ujval born in India, currently lives in the DC Area.
Uday born in India, currently lives in the Des Moines Area.

Why this name?
We were in the back room making beats.

Do you play live?
Ujval and Uday used to DJ and remix back in college. We also do weddings. I like it because I get bond with my brother. Making tracks that people want to bump makes us happy and that's what we want to do. We had a lot of special moments but doing my my friends wedding with my brother was memorable. We put together an outstanding set! We had the whole place hopping.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is breeding musical geniuses. People are reinventing ways and innovating new methods to promote, make music, and make money. Everything from marketing to productions are evolving at a fast pace. The internet is a time machine for technology.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the money was right, I would for sure.
Band History:
Back Room Beats began in Fall 200. We use various software and hardware with custom made samples from all around the world to make our music. Back Room Beats consists of Uday and Ujval. We do remixes, mega mixes, beats, weddings, and other events. If you want music customized for your event, call or email us. We want everyone to listen to what we make and let us know what they want to hear. Our music has heavy Asian-Indian influence.

Your influences?
A.R. Rehman, RD Burman, SD Burman, Dr.Dre, Timbaland, and Neptunes. All of the old school Rap - A - Lot. And my Father, Siva Prasad, he has a great ear for music, and introduced me to some of the best records. Giorgio Moroder and Eric Prydz. There are so many, I can't remember them all.

Favorite spot?
Arlington, Nellore, Des Moines area, London, Brighton, Jersey City, Nashville, Napoli(Italy), Chicago, Mumbai, Pittsburgh, NYC/Jersey, Philly, DC Area and Hyderabad(India).
Equipment used:
Whatever I can get my hands on. We use Fruity Loops and Goldwave. M-Audio Torq Xponent and Garageband. Also use Blue Bottle mics. Pioneer CDJ decks - 2 of em with a Vestax mixer. Mac books and mac mini. All my sound is Bose, even the Headphones. The Quiet Comforts are ill.
