In the late months of 2002 4 young stallions decided it would be a great idea to get together and play their respective musical instruments, at the same time,in the same room. And it was bad. So they decided to practice, and low and behold....It was still bad. So they practiced some more, played a few shows in Warrington before finally getting it all right and recording the popular 'Chain Letter' in Frog studio's at the end of 2003. And in October of 2004 the band recorded 3 new songs, again at Frog, which got the band noticed by venues and record companys a like, with Chromium Records taking note and promptly signing up SurlyBusDriver on a development deal. But at the same time SBD's original bass player, Chris, got drunk on a bench at 11am, decided he wanted a beard and a burberry cap which was not on so he left the band. SBD then decided to recruit Ben, a friend, to fill this position. The band will soon be recording their first full length album thanks to the success of the download single "Forty-Four". SurlyBusDriver is Joe, Tom, Robin and Ben.
