The DonnaDays are a 4 piece indie/rock/alternative band from the town of Kidsgrove in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. We are:

Oliver Davies (Ol): lead vocals and guitars.

Daniel Finn (Finn): Drums and vocals.

Andrew Redfern (Fern): Bass, vocals and 'percussion'.

Alex Coleman (Coleman): Guitars, vocals and 'percussion'.

Mixing elements from many diverse styles, we create something entirely new, not just another run of the mill band. Ranging from hard rocking, thrash-about songs, to heartfelt ballads, all the while having that spark makes us what we are; ourselves. We don't try to be any other band, we don't try to fit the current scene. In the words of one rocker, "we do what we like and we like what we do".
Why this name?
There is a girl in the Kidsgrove 6th From called Donna Day, and the band thought it would be hilarious to embarrass the young Donna by naming the band something along the lines of 'The We Hate Donna Day Band'. Of course, it was all in good fun, but for some stupid reason, it stuck, and the rest as they say, is history.
Do you play live?
Yes, we play all over Stoke-on-Trent but also play just outside the area aswell. We are looking forward to playing at new places and with new people out of the area, and want to expand ASAP. Playing live is why we do it. There's just something about getting up there, playing a bunch of songs that you wrote and are proud of, and having a good time as the audience gets into it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's obvious it changes the industry, but to what end, is unsure. Does it send the whole thing crashing down (not such a bad thing really, when you look at how corrupt and unfair it generally is), or does it revolutionise and bring about a new age of music? Who knows? All that we know is that either way, it isn't going to stop us making the music we love.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends, obviously you'd read the contract first, and then think, 'why are they signing us?'. We've seen plenty of bands who are signed purely because they are exactly the same as every other generic indie band out there, and the record company just want to make some money off them. They get dropped soon enough though. In our case, I don't think that's gonna happen, because we aren't like any band I can think of. So yeah, we probably would.
Your influences?
Well, we al have a range of influences, in no particular order:

The modern indie scene like Oasis, The Music, The Strokes, The killers etc.

The classic rock era like Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Thin lizzy, The Who etc.

Alternative bands like Coldplay, Dream Theater, Muse, Kasabian, etc.

And also, just plain all out rockers like Foo Fighters, Bush, and even McFly (unfortunately).
Favorite spot?
The great town of Kidsgrove.
